He knows he deserves this, that's why he's not opening the damn door.

What are you gonna do? Kick his ass? I thought you wanted a truce. Can't you just... yell at him or something?

That'll just make him happy.

[She wraps both arms around one of his and tries to pull him back.]

You said you didn't want to kill him, right?

...I don't.

[ But he totally deserves a punch in the face... even if that would probably set off the boyfriend.

He bristles. Why is this so fucking complicated?

Kyna tugs on his arm and Wash huffs, kicking at the door instead. Asshole's not coming out. Maybe he isn't even home... fine. Fine. ]

[Wash seems to settle, even if it's the barest amount, and Kyna exhales, relaxing.]

Come on. Come sit down.

[ Wash goes along with her, but he's not happy. ]

Trying to sabotage my relationships is definitely truce violation.

[evocation]

[She's definitely not going to examine that too closely. Absolutely not.]

Yeah, well, he's not gonna get rid of me that easily.

[Back to her apartment they go, and she closes the door firmly behind them.]

[ Wash rakes his armor-less hand through his hair, visibly frustrated. ]

If he goes after Eleven, too, that's it. No more nice guy.

[evocation]

If he goes after Eleven I'll hold him down for you.

[That's way past her line. Kyna hesitates for a second, then offers him her hand.]

I'm sorry I pried.

It's not your fault. He knows it's a sore spot and he knew you'd ask. I'm not mad at you.

[ But he mad.

Kyna holds her hand out and Wash just stares at it for a moment, like he doesn't know what he's supposed to do. He's still in fight mode. Right. He's meant to take it. He breathes out and reaches back, fingers curling around hers gently. Trying to calm himself. Just. Think about something else. ]

You should meet her.

[evocation]

[It's more than a little obvious that he's still wound up, so she runs her thumb over his knuckles slowly, back and forth, trying to soothe him.]

Who? The little girl staying with you?

[hardwearing]

[ ...that helps, actually. Gives him something to focus on. Some of the tension from his shoulders eases. ]

Yeah. She's stayed the past few nights. I think she's starting to feel safe.

I wish I knew where she went during the day.

[evocation]

[Better. She doesn't stop, but she thinks they're over the hill, maybe.]

You didn't ask her, or did she just not want to tell you?

She just said "friends" like she was going out to look for them. I tried to go with her yesterday and she sort of freaked, so I let her go alone. But I don't know where she ends up. Hopefully not in the tunnels or anything.

Shit. Yeah, I hope not. Do you know where she is now?

[hardwearing]

No.

...maybe I should put a tracker on her.

[evocation]

[Kyna finally smiles, assuming he's kidding.]

Can you hook that up to your armor? Make it play a stupid ringtone every time she gets too far away?

[hardwearing]

I could set up proximity monitors, yeah. The trackers I've got on me can monitor vitals, too.

[evocation]

[Okay, smile gone.]

Wait, are you serious? Jesus, Wash, you can't stick a tracker on her.

...I'd tell her first. I'm not a creep.

If she freaked out about you following you, I'm pretty sure she's not gonna be chill with a tracker.

She might be? I think she's just scared of me getting hurt around her. She wants me in my armor all the time.
