Agent Washington started out the “rookie.” Despite being experienced as a soldier he had a youthful naivety and was both gullible and comically reactive, often leading others to tease and trick him. He was best known not for his considerable fighting skill but for being the guy who got grappling hooked in the crotch -- when everyone is a super soldier, someone still has to be the joke. Generally good natured back then, if a little awkward, Wash snarked back but didn't seem to mind, and genuinely cared for his comrades. He’s always been extremely loyal to and protective of his fellow soldiers despite his hidden temper, including a history of violent disobedience. Wash admitted that he did hold grudges, but claimed everyone he's ever hurt was deserving of his ire. Little did anyone know just what he was actually capable of... These days, after a great deal of trauma and a brief (failed) stint as a villain, Wash is simply trying to do better. To be there for the people who were there for him, as those loyal and protective traits never really left. He's trying to be a good friend and a good person, albeit one who has a knack for saying the wrong thing and setting others off. He's actively trying to let go of the past and his grudges, though his motivations have been replaced in part by guilt. Wash is now all about control, or maybe he always was -- he slips into leader mode in stressful situations to cope, and as a result has become both more patient and has a tighter leash on his anger. The things that Wash has survived due to his own resilience and the help he got along the way have shaped him into a complex but caring person, one who will do anything for his friends. Wash's backstory deals with torture, suicide, genocide, murder... quite frankly he is a train wreck. Despite being at his most stable he’s got severe PTSD, will still resort to violence in most situations (even if he’s no longer as shoot-first-ask-questions-later), and is only just getting a handle on a lifetime of anger and still harbors guilt and resentment concerning his past. Although he doesn't discuss these things casually if you would prefer to opt out of any of this or prefer that Wash not tag you, a comment to this post will serve as an opt-out. All comments are screened and confidential.
Wash is only human, but he is an extremely competent fighter. Most notably with firearms, hand to hand, and knife throwing. He’s cunning in battle and has some experience with infiltration and hacking. He’s also agent cockroach — he can take quite a beating and keep on kicking. In Hadriel he learned d&d style magic and knows the following spells: light (nerfed), prestidigitation (the fire element is nerfed), shocking grasp, mending, mage hand, and a simple healing spell (he can't do much more than close small wounds or stop bleeding).

Eigen - post library w/Kyna
[ By the time Kyna catches up to David and Aelish where they've paused in a corridor to discuss his life (something he's still not happy about but doesn't seem to have a choice whether or not to tell the party now, and Aelish is at least surprisingly easy to talk to), they've mostly covered the important parts. Well.... the vital parts for him to share. There's still the one big thing that he's uncomfortable revealing to anyone, that likely wouldn't come up if (when) they head to Delvehum.
Kyna shares a bit of the gossip about Robin asking Darius for something official, and of course it leads to Aelish asking them if they're dating and when they both fumble he waves it off smoothly, saying he'll go to fetch dinner on his own.
David, still red-faced and awkward, just nods, even though he doubts Aelish could carry food for them all on his own. Kyna stands beside him with the mood just a bit tense, but she's shifting her weight and fiddling with her necklace adorably enough that David's able to smile at her genuinely. ]
We should probably give Robin and Darius a little longer, huh? Do you want to go get some air?
[ It's a cool and pleasant evening in Plavin, the sun not yet quite set. He thinks it would be nice to watch it with her while they wait. ]
